Dear Friends and Family

I am in the process of changing the website to be Emma centered. Therefore, when she arrives the blog will be ready for me to add pictures and update you on her arrival and progress. Please be patient as the website may change a few times until I decide I finally like the looks of it.

Six more days left and still pregnant

Well, I am still pregnant and the doctor said I may be pregnant passed 41 weeks and possibly may need to be induced because Emma is enjoying her cozy home and is not ready to come out yet even though she is healthy and has a strong heartbeat. My body has not shown much progress either and I have not felt any Braxton Hicks this entire pregnancy. I still have 6 days until my due date so we will just have to wait and see. In the mean time the house is clean and the nursery is ready for our bundle of joy to come. Below is a video of the finished nursery.

The Nursery is Coming Together!

I found some cute stranger to help put the crib together. He was very handy, I should keep him.
Here it is all put together complete with the bedding! Emma's room has a "Winnie the Pooh" theme.

The Nursery still needs wall hangings, shelves above the changing table, and mom is making the curtains to go with the valance. The room is done enough though if Emma were to arrive tomorrow. Below is a picture of the room to the left near the door.
This the far wall of the room. Soon the book shelf will be full of books. Being a teacher I own a lot of them.
Below is the right wall of the room. As you can see Emma is thoroughly blessed with many towels, wash cloths, sheets, and blankets of all sizes.
Finally, here is Emma's closet. She is already spoiled by so many people buying her beautiful clothes. She will certainly know she is loved by so many people around her. We know in God's perfect timing she will arrive, but we are anxiously waiting for little Emma. I must admit I am becoming less patient as my stomach grows larger and my due date draws nearer. I am glad that I am on maternity leave now because sleep is not coming as easy as it used to. At least I can take naps, I hear once our precious joy comes I will get even less sleep.

Emma is Showered with Love!

On January 3rd some friends put together another shower for me at the church. It was so much fun and I felt so loved. Emma is definitely going to be spoiled.

Here are some friends who helped put the shower together.

This is my Mom and Sister-in-law Beccy.

Below is a family friend, Jaime. She is 2 1/2 weeks ahead of me. My Dad and her dad have been friends since they were 3 and 5 years old. Then Her parents and my parents both had 2 children around the same age. It seems kind of Ironic that now Jaime and I are having girls the same time as well.

This beautiful cheese cake (almost looks like it was made for a wedding) made me feel especially loved because the top cake is Melisa friendly (No wheat and no corn). Therefore, I could stuff my face full of sweet dessert just like everyone else. It was certainly delightful.

We Finally Have Snow!

I know this post is not about little Emma, but I was too excited to share the 2 feet of snow we got. Below is a picture of our home.
Here is the view from our front door looking up to the mountains where my parents live. They got 4 feet of snow up there.
Here is the view from our back door.
The next two pictures are of our road to our house.

Our dog Cocoa (a Lab/Shepard mix) is trying to walk through the snow.

A Surprise Baby Shower

The day after Thanksgiving my family surprised me with a baby shower. I felt so loved. They even pretended to be pregnant right along with me. As you can see my dad, uncle, and cousin joined in on the fun.
Even my 93 year old Grandma was pregnant for the occasion

These wonderful ladies were behind all the hard work to surprise me. I love you Aunt Doris, Mom, Grandma, and Sherri!

I wasn't exactly dressed for the occasion, but I guess that is part of the fun of being surprised.

As you can see I was so blessed by my aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma etc.
I have such a wonderful family!

Oh, by the way, we finally chose Emma Lynn for the name of our daughter.

It's a Girl!

On thursday I had my ultrasound and found out that I am having a girl. She is very healthy and has a heart rate of 145 beats per minute. She is 8 ounces and 5 1/2 inches long from head to bottom. She was moving too much to measure her legs. The Ultrasound Technician said that we are going to have a long skinny baby.
