Christmas Day

We celebrated Jesus' Birthday today. God has blessed us with so much that we were able to exchange gifts with each other. The greatest gift of all that we were reminded of through the excitement of the day was that we get to have eternal life in Heaven because Christ came to this earth and laid down His life for us. I got so many gifts that I was opening them throughout the day. Here are the many highlights of my first Christmas.

I actually surprised Mommy because I enjoyed unwrapping presents and I enjoyed the stuff inside the wrapping too. Here is my first present I opened while everyone was eating breakfast.


I received lots of clothes, musical toys, and fun legos. Nana and Papa bought me the two biggest toys. One was a rocking horse that actually neighs, wags its tail and nods its head. I liked touching it, but I am not ready to ride it yet. I was a little scared. I like to feel its mane and when I push the ears it talks to me and makes me smile.


The other toy was the entertainment for the rest of the afternoon for the whole family. I got my first car that I can push or ride.

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we had family over at our house for dinner. Here is Great Grandpa watching me while everyone cleaned up the kitchen, put the food away and played some Wii games.

Nana and Papa were a great team washing Mommy's fancy dishes.

Uncle Eric and Aunt Beccy were the pros at playing Wii Sports. They are the athletic ones in the family. Hopefully I got some of their genes.

After playing games we had some of Aunt Beccy's superb Black Forest Cake. Yes, I mean we. I was sneaky and put my hand in daddy's cake while he was distracted. The frosting was tasty.

I refused an afternoon nap because I did not want to miss anything so I sucked my fingers most of the afternoon/evening.

Some Early Christmas Presents

Our Neighbors Laurie and Ally gave me some presents for Christmas a few days early. I was not interested in unwrapping them, but I enjoyed the gifts inside. So did my daddy. As you can see he thought my Tinkerbell blanket was so soft and cuddly.
Here is a rocking horse that used to be Ally's when she was little, but now she is a teenager and does not need it anymore. It will be perfect to use out on the patio.

I also received some winter boots that I like to play with more than wear. The white pompoms are just too interesting.

10 Months Old

I am getting closer to being able to walk independently. As long as I am holding on to furniture I can walk all around everything. I even surprised mommy when she was decorating the Christmas tree because I held onto the step stool and pushed it forward while walking. I also do not need to pull my self up anymore because I can just pop myself up to a standing position and stand for several seconds examining toys in my hand or clap excitedly about something. Since I have been crawling for three months now I am super speedy and can make mommy chase me all over the house. I like to keep her on her toes.

I am communicating more now too. I can say Dada, Mama, Nana, and PPP for papa. I also say hi sometimes, wave good-bye, and I am pointing at everything. I want to build up my vocabulary so I can be as brilliant as Daddy some day. I am even beginning to point at pictures on the wall when asked where daddy, Nana, Mommy, etc. is. I am getting good at throwing a temper tantrum when something gets taken away from me that I am not supposed to have like glass coasters, or wood chips from the wood brought in for the fire place. I also know how to get people to pay attention to me by giving them a cute scrunchy face smile. I can't go anywhere without somebody talking to me.

Christmas Tree Shopping

We went to a Christmas tree farm on Friday to pick out the perfect tree. After just a few minutes we found it. We thought it would take longer because my family has always gone to a special Christmas tree farm that looked like you were in a forest with Redwoods, blue spruces, and other great trees. The owners retired and closed it down so we had to settle for a regular tree farm and they had great trees too. Here we are!



I also got to have fun with Daddy. I got to ride on his shoulders while Nana and Papa looked for their tree.

Here is the finished product. Isn't our tree so beautiful! Our house smells so good.

My First Snow

Well, its not much, but I got to experience my first rain and snow all in the same day. As you can see in the pictures we got less than an inch. It was fun to touch, but I got cold quickly. Mommy needs to buy me a snow suit so I can play outside.
