Nolan's Second and Third Week

The night Nolan turned two weeks old he made Mommy and Daddy very nervous because Nolan was having difficulty breathing and was admitted into the hospital for four days. He ended up having bronchitis and possibly the start of pneumonia. He is home now and doing much better, but still a bit congested. The doctor ordered that he has to stay home for awhile and stay away from people as much as possible until his immune system gets stronger.

Here is Nolan at three weeks old. He is enjoying his play gym.

Our Little Lioness

Our church had a fall festival where everyone could dress up and play games with Biblical themes. Emma dressed up as a lion. This outfit has been passed around to all the different cousins in Daddy's family. This year it got to be Emma's turn to wear it.
Emma got to play a game with "Auntie Ellie" and Emma was so excited to win a package of M&Ms.

Emma at 20 Months Old

Emma enjoys to draw, play with Lego's, and mimic Mommy and Nolan with her baby doll.

Emma has also learned what a pumpkin is and she gets all excited when she sees one.

Emma and Nolan Meet

Mommy was very impressed with Emma. Emma noticed Nolan and wanted to hold him, but was very quiet at first. After about an hour though, she warmed up to Nolan and wanted to talk all about his toes, hands, and face. She has been very good with Nolan being home and she has been very gentle with him.

Nolan John Hettinga...

Born on October 16, 2010. He weighed 8 pounds and 1 oz and was 21 inches long. Our Mommy felt like she might have been in labor around 10:30 am, but by 4:00pm she knew for sure she was in labor. By the time she got to the hospital at 6:30 pm her contractions were 2 to 4 minutes apart and Nolan was born via c-section by 8:21 pm.
Here are some of the special people that visited Nolan while he was in the hospital.
