Train Watching..The Big Boy

An old steam engine from southern California was going to be refurbished and it needed to be placed in Wyoming for the remodeling.  Therefore, since we live in the land of trains we got to see it pass by.  Our friends are big train followers and they told us about the steam engine so we made a play date out of it.  Here we are waiting for the train.  It was about 45 minutes late.  We were so glad Mommy prepared snacks!

 

 Here comes the train!  It was so big and noisy!

 Now we are waiting for it to leave.  That is our favorite part as it whistles and moves.

 Lunch time!  Watching trains made us hungry.

The next day we all made it in the newspaper and in the internet news. It was fun.

Bird Watching

We have a nest out our back porch it has been fun to see the progress of the birds hatching and flying way.  We have learned a lot.  Below are pictures of the house finch family.

Brandon is in a Toddler Bed!

 

I like my new bed very much.  Mommy was quite impressed with me because I stay in my bed at night and nap times.  Then I had to prove her wrong.  I am very stealthy and Mommy never heard a peep from me. Then mommy decided to pop her head in to see my cute sleeping face and this is what she found.  It is fun getting into the diapers, closet, and drawers. There was lots of entertainment when  I discovered my freedom!  I even tried to undress myself.

 

A Day with Auntie Ellie

First we fed and pet the chickens.  Auntie Ellie's chickens are friendly.  She held them and gave them love from the first day they hatched and now they are the best chickens! 

 Then we went for a walk...yes even in California it gets cold.  This is what a drought looks like in winter/spring. 

Our Camping Trip

We went camping in Malibu From Friday to Monday.  It was our first true camping trip and we all had a great time.  We are already planning our next one.

On Saturday we spent the day at the beach.  We were so excited to see and touch the ocean.  It took Nolan the longest to warm up to touching the water, but Emma was out in the waves as fast as she could.

 Nolan liked playing in the sand and climbing the rocks the best.

On Sunday we went hiking.  We had a blast, though some of us were a bit worn out at the end and little Libby (the dog) got ticks.  We all had ticks on us as well, but nobody got bite by one.
