Emma and Nolan Meet

Mommy was very impressed with Emma. Emma noticed Nolan and wanted to hold him, but was very quiet at first. After about an hour though, she warmed up to Nolan and wanted to talk all about his toes, hands, and face. She has been very good with Nolan being home and she has been very gentle with him.

Nolan John Hettinga...

Born on October 16, 2010. He weighed 8 pounds and 1 oz and was 21 inches long. Our Mommy felt like she might have been in labor around 10:30 am, but by 4:00pm she knew for sure she was in labor. By the time she got to the hospital at 6:30 pm her contractions were 2 to 4 minutes apart and Nolan was born via c-section by 8:21 pm.

The Pumpkin Patch

I went to the Pumpkin Patch with my friend Charlotte. It was a lot of fun. The pumpkin Patch also had a petting zoo. I really liked the goats.
At the end of the day we got to pick out our own pumpkins to take home.

My Cousins Visit

My cousins from Arizona came to visit on their way to Disneyland. We had fun playing with Legos.

Mommy's Baby Shower

On September 18th Mommy had a baby shower for my soon-to-be brother. The theme of the party was "Welcome Little Pumpkin".

As you can see, Mommy had lots of fun and felt very blessed by all the love friends and family showed her.

I helped Mommy set out all the nice things for my baby brother so that Daddy could see what we got.

19 Months Old

I turned 19 months on September 20th. I have 12 teeth now and weigh 21.5 pounds. I am also 31 inches tall. I am beginning to say a whole bunch of phrases now. Here are the ones I say the most: I get you!, where did it go?, where is it?, There it is!, hold you peez (please), all done, help peez. For the last few weeks I have been itchy with a rash all over my body. The Doctor has said I am allergic to something, but we haven't figured it out yet. I finally got a blood test and we are still waiting for the results. Mommy said I was really brave because I did not cry at all giving blood. Thankfully my rash is almost gone now, but as you can see most of the pictures this month I am not as cheerful as I usually am.


One of my favorite things have been playing with my baby doll and stuffed animals. I like to change the baby's clothes, have my little friends take a nap, or have them copy what I like to do.

Hanging Out With Nana

I got to play on Nana's Piano. It was noisy, but fun.

Nana also got some new backpacking gear for the trip Nana and Papa are going on in October. She let me play with the sleeping bag and backpack. Nana and I were pretending to take a nap.I like to snap buckles together over and over again and the backpack had lots of buckles that kept me entertained for a long time.
